Spoilers: Kidnapping, shock attack and a departure in Home and Away

This week on Home and Away, Tane (Ethan Browne) is cagey as he fears for his family’s safety after receiving an anonymous threat. His behaviour isn’t unnoticed by Felicity (Jacqui Purvis) and Nikau (Kawakawa Fox-Reo), who can’t get anything out of him. One morning, they try to get through to him, but his phone rings out. Meanwhile, Tane is being bundled into the back of a van with a bag over his head…

Elsewhere, Xander’s (Luke Van Os) emotional baggage is coming to a head as he attends to a casualty on-scene at a road accident. He is disgusted to see how a

drunk driver has caused so much damage, and the situation gets worse when the driver’s victim passes away. Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) and Rose (Kirsty Marillier) are also attending the incident, and they’re both taken aback when they see Xander launching himself at the driver, full of rage…

Here’s what’s coming up for the week beginning Monday August 22.

Tane is taken against his will by the biker gang

Tane is on edge after receiving an anonymous threat, and his relaxed behaviour immediately becomes strange and cagey. He tells Nikau and Felicity there’s been a break-in nearby, so they need to lock up whenever they enter or leave the house. Meanwhile, he secretly arranges to meet with the bikers and heads to a secret location as discussed. However, not long after he arrives a van shows up and he’s told to put a bag over his head before being bundled in and driven away…

Xander loses it at a drunk driver after a casualty

Rose and Cash have been called to a road accident, and Rose is alarmed to see Xander performing CPR on a cyclist casualty. It’s not looking good for the cyclist; meanwhile, the driver stinks of alcohol. Eventually Xander’s colleague says they’ll have to pronounce the cyclist dead. Xander doesn’t take the news well and jumps to his feet, launching himself at the drunk driver to have a go at him for being responsible for a death. Cash and Rose are taken aback by Xander’s unprofessionalism…

Nikau crashes Chloe and Theo’s romantic night in

When Nikau finds out about his uncle’s troubles with the biker gang, he realises he needs to make sure Chloe is safe at all times. He begins behaving in ways Chloe and Theo find strange – such as asking where Chloe will be and if she’ll be alone. The situation intensifies in the evening when Chloe and Theo are having a romantic night in – they are interrupted by an unexpected guest, Nikau. The two make it clear they wanted to be alone but it soon becomes obvious Nikau isn’t leaving any time soon…

Alf reveals he might be forced to leave Summer Bay

Alf returns to the Bay from his time in Merimbula with Martha, but he’s in a foul mood and nobody can figure out why. Roo is the most confused, and she calls her Mum for insight. After a surprising conversation, Roo asks to meet Alf in the Diner and says she knows what’s going on – Martha is refusing to return to the Bay, so Alf has a tough choice to make. Will he stay in the Bay and barely see his wife, or will he pack up his life and leave to be with her?

Bob’s ego threatens to break up the band

Lyrik is back in the Bay to visit Felicity, and she takes the opportunity to pitch the idea Mackenzie is keen on – the band playing a regular fortnightly paid gig in Salt. Everyone is interested – except Bob, who says they’re above playing pub gigs in hick towns. Tensions soon boil over as Remi, Eden and Kirby agree the gigs would be a great chance to get some steady income. However, Kirby is stuck between her friends and her boyfriend as Bob flat out refuses to entertain the idea.

Ziggy encourages Mackenzie to date again – but is she ready?

Mackenzie has been single since Logan left the Bay, but Ziggy jumps at the chance to get her friend back in the dating game when Dean reveals one of his surf students asked for Mack’s number. Dean thinks it’s a bad idea, but Ziggy couldn’t disagree more. She begins dropping unsubtle comments to her friend about spicing her life up, and Mackenzie eventually asks what’s going on. Dean and Ziggy reveal that a guy called Todd is interested in her, and he also owns a business. But is Mackenzie ready to try out a new relationship?

Theo is envious of the band and contemplates his future

With Lyrik back in the Bay and taking over the Parata household, it doesn’t take long for Theo to notice the instruments lying around everywhere when he’s hanging out with Chloe. He can’t help but dream of his childhood, saying he always wanted to be in a band. However, his strict father quickly put a stop to his desires. Chloe says that Theo always looks happy when he’s playing guitar. Maybe he should look into it again?

Kirby left heartbroken as Bob leaves – but who will replace him?

Eden and Remi leave Kirby to talk to Bob after the ego-driven lead singer insists they won’t be playing the Salt gigs. They put faith in Kirby talking her boyfriend round, but Bob has had enough and suggests the two of them strike out on their own. Kirby remains supportive of her friends, and Bob says maybe it’s time for him to leave. Later, when Eden and Remi head back to the house, they’re taken aback to see Bob storming towards the van while Kirby begs him not to go. However, he drives away and the band watch him disappear into the distance. What will they do without a lead singer?
