Theo (Matt Evans) has been flattered by admiring messages from a Lyrik fan on his social media in recent weeks.
He isn’t sure how to reply at first, but Kirby (Angelina Thomson) helps him craft a supportive response. Unfortunately, Theo’s engagement has only encouraged the fan to spam hum further messages, which leave the singer and mechanic feeling overwhelmed.
Eventually, Kirby advises that he should ignore the fan, but when Theo does that it only leads to the fan sending even more messages, this time tinged with frustration. Theo begins speaking with her again, choosing not to tell Kirby as he doesn’t want to get into it with her. He won’t admit it to himself, but he’s enjoying the attention.
It isn’t long before the adoring fan takes it up a notch – Theo is in the Surf Club with Kirby when Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) enters, holding a massive parcel addressed to him that was sent to the garage. Theo is ecstatic when he opens it to see a massive portrait of him. However, Kirby frowns – this is going a bit far, surely? When John (Shane Withington) questions how the fan knew where Theo worked, Kirby is immediately in agreement. Is this fan stalking him?
Theo is in total denial about having a stalker. He’s convinced it’s just a fan who has a little crush on him – and what’s more, she’s an amazing artist.
He proudly shows off the artwork to Justin (James Stewart) and Leah (Ada Nicodemou), then begins planning where he will hang it up. When Theo realises that the garage sponsors the band, and his fan probably saw the logo on the tour bus, he concludes that’s how she knew where to send the portrait.
However, Kirby isn’t convinced. But when Theo says he suspects Kirby is jealous, his girlfriend loses patience and leaves Theo to sort out his own mess.
Theo thanks the fan for her generosity, but then we see a mysterious figure leaning over a scrapbook, collecting photos and drawing of Theo…could this fan’s unhealthy obsession become dangerous?
