Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) has recently left Jasmine (Sam Frost) hurt and confused after rejecting her invitation to move in together. After walking away from the conversation without an explanation, his only reasoning the next day was that he needed to be around for Felicity (Jacqui Purvis) – a justification Jasmine found hard to believe. He’s not moving away, just to a house a few streets away from her!
Eventually, the pair decide to draw a line under it and move on – but the subject is still sore. In the aftermath of the news of a death rocking the community, Cash, Jasmine and Felicity form a bonding unit. Felicity is left at a loose end so spends more time with the couple – but in so doing, she ends up overstepping her welcoming by bringing up the ‘moving in’ question again.
Cash and Jasmine clearly aren’t comfortable talking about it, and Cash pulls Felicity aside, making it clear that she needs to stay out of it. However, Felicity has some words in return for her brother, saying that the protective act is smothering her. Left with food for thought, Cash decides to discard his fear of moving in with Jasmine and go for it.
He decides to make his change of heart clear with what he sees as a grand romantic gesture. He approaches Irene (Lynne McGranger) in the Diner and asks her for a key to the house. Irene is delighted – he and Jasmine have finally agreed on moving in? Cash says that no, they haven’t talked about it since he stopped the idea in its tracks. He wants to secretly move in and surprise her!
Irene refuses to give him a key, and Cash is confused. However, Irene makes it clear – he can’t just move in without her permission. She isn’t in the habit of handing out keys to her house to anyone who asks for one! When Felicity hears about Cash’s idea, she’s on Irene’s side – far from being a big romantic idea, his suggestion sounds downright invasive…
