Brits love a bargain and from Monday, Morrisons is slashing the price of the breakfasts served in their cafe. The supermarket has announced customers can get their much-loved cooked breakfast, as well as other devious menu items for half price.
From bank holiday Monday, Morrisons is halving the price of its much-loved cooked breakfast for four weeks.
This means customers can get a fry up with sausage, bacon, fried egg, grilled tomato, baked beans and toast for just £1.87 – a price hard to beat anywhere else on the high street.
For those customers looking for the full works, they will be charged £2.75.
The ‘Full English Breakfast’ includes mushrooms, black pudding and hash browns as well as extra sausages and bacon.
The cafe also offers a vegetarian and vegan cooked breakfast option which includes two vegan sausages, avocado, fried eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, hash browns, beans and toast.
Ali Lyons, Head of Cafes at Morrisons, said: “A traditional cooked breakfast has long been a Great British treat.
“As the nation returns to work and school we wanted to offer our customers a hearty meal, at an unbeatable price, to ensure they are setting themselves up for the day.
“Many of our customers are key workers and don’t work traditional office hours, so we’ve made sure that the discount is valid all day so no matter what time you’re eating breakfast, customers can take advantage of the offer in our cafes.”
Morrisons breakfasts are available all day every day and the offer is valid in all 406 Morrisons cafes.
The offer runs from Monday 30th August until Sunday 26th September.
Morrisons recently introduced a brand new menu and has invested heavily in coronavirus safety measures including screens and a contactless ‘Order & Pay’ app.
To use the app, all customers have to do is pull up a seat in the cafe, scan the QR code and place an order.
It comes after Morrisons announced the removal of plastic carrier bags from its stores.
The supermarket will no longer be selling “bags for life”.
This move will save 3,200 tonnes of plastic and almost 100 million plastic bags every year, the company said.
Instead, customers will be offered paper bags.
For anyone concerned about the durability of the paper bags, Morrisons reassured customers that they are reusable, recyclable, water-resistant, tear-resistant and can hold up to 16k of groceries.
The paper bags will cost 30p and will be available alongside other reusable options including string, jute, cotton women bags costing between 75p and £2.50.
