If having three drinks on the go at one time seems excessive, you are apparently alone – TikTokkers are in ‘beverage goblin’ mode.
Wtf does this mean? Fair question.
It’s nothing to do with overdoing it on the booze – it just means you have three drinks at once, each serving a different purpose.
Popular with gen z workers who have a home office set up, the idea is you have a range of drinks set up.
The drinks should each fall into one of three categories: fun, hydration, and energy.
So for example, a juice (fun), water (hydration) and coffee (energy).
Once you manage that, you have them set up so all bases are covered while you work or relax at home.

Sophia Pelton, a comedian no less, said in her viral video: ‘It could be water, matcha, Spindrift.
‘It could even be water, vodka, Red Bull… in those moments, I just feel like I have it all.
‘I’m living large, and I am a little prince. It’s like, caffeinate, alleviate, hydrate.’

Since then, other creators have adopted the trend.
One TikTokker called Kristen made up a song called ‘beverage goblin song’, with the caption: ‘Never underestimate the power of a fun little drink to help your productivity. Meet the beverage goblin aka a work-from-home queen.’
The lyrics say the drinks help the ‘body and mind’ ‘run’.
Under the song, someone commented: ‘Maybe becoming a beverage goblin will get me to drink enough fluids…’, while others said they felt ‘seen’ and ‘validated’ as they’d been doing this for years.
gotta be surrounded by at least 3 different lukewarm drinks 😌 #coffee #worklife #workfromhome
Other people have called their three bevs ’emotional support’ drinks.
If you still don’t quite get it, you’re not a beverage goblin – but maybe you should grab a glass of water.
