Roast potatoes can take hours to make for a Sunday dinner, but if you have an air fryer, they can be made in 20 minutes. Habibti Cooking on TikTok shared her recipe for “delicious air fryer potatoes”.
The video, which has been watched by 536k people, shows a step-by-step guide to making roast potatoes.
Habibti Cooking says her method produces “crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside” roasties, perfect for Sunday dinner or a midweek meal.
Ingredients:
One lb baby potatoes
Two tbsp olive oil
Two tsp salt
One tsp black pepper
Optional: Two tsp garlic powder, one tsp paprika, half a tsp cayenne pepper
Leaving the skins on the potatoes, begin by cutting the potatoes into quarters.
Place the cut potatoes into a large mixing bowl and drizzle with olive oil and season.
You can also add garlic powder, paprika and cayenne pepper if you want.
Ensure all sides of the potatoes are covered in the seasonings before transferring them to the bottom of your air fryer basket.
Set the temperature to 400 Fahrenheit or 200 degrees Celsius and cook the potatoes for 20 minutes.
You can “shake the air fryer once or twice” to ensure all sides of the potato are cooked evenly.
Once complete, the potatoes should have crispy edges. Habibti Cooking admitted the potatoes “had a nice crunch…but not too crunchy they were dry”.
The video gained lots of comments, one said: “New favourite way to make potatoes.”

“Made these tonight – great and tasty,” another added. A third wrote: “I made these from your recipe and they were AMAZING!!!”
You can also swap the olive oil for avocado oil. Habibti Cooking said she uses “avocado oil sometimes” and says “any oil can be good”.
New potatoes can also be swapped for “any potatoes”, just make sure they are all cut the same size to allow for even cooking.
The bigger the potato, the longer it will take to cook also.
Many other things can be cooked in an air fryer – another popular Sunday dinner item is Yorkshire puddings.
