Engineers will next month walk out for up to eight days over a pay dispute at the British brand. Unite union said supplies of its festive luxury chocolate-covered biscuits would be affected.
Production of Rocky, Classic, Echo, Crunch Creams, and Party Rings could also be a hit.
Unite regional officer Chris Rawlinson said: “The union has given the company every opportunity to make a fair pay offer but it has failed to do so.
“The strike action will inevitably result in production problems and product shortages in the run-up to Christmas, but this dispute is entirely of the company’s own making.”
Some 36 engineers who maintain production lines by fixing breakdowns or malfunctioning equipment have rejected a five percent pay offer, saying it was effectively a real terms pay cut due to inflation.
A company spokesman said: “We do not anticipate any supply issues as a result of this situation.”
