A food recall is issued by a supermarket, brand, or company when a product is unsafe to eat. The product is withdrawn from shelves in case it causes harm to certain individuals. Below is the full list of current active food recalls from major UK supermarkets.

Aldi

The German retailer is recalling Moser Roth The Collection Milk, White, and Dark Chocolates because they contain egg which is not mentioned on the label.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg.

The Moser Roth chocolates come in a pack 160g in size and all best before dates are affected.

Aldi said: “Our supplier is recalling this product because the product contains egg, which is not declared on the label.

“Customers who are allergic to egg should not consume the product and can return it to one of our stores for a full refund.”

The supermarket is also recalling Aldi Ready Roll Pizza, which has a pack size of 400g and a use by date of January 13, 2022.

This is because of fears that it may contain salmonella.

Tesco

Tesco is also recalling pastry products due to the presence of salmonella.

The products affected include Pizza Express Ready to Roll Pizza Dough and Pre-rolled Pizza Dough, Jus-Rol Puff Pastry Block and Shortcrust Pastry Blocks, Pizza Express Ready to Roll Pizza Dough and Pre-rolled Pizza Dough.

The supermarket urged customers not to eat the products, but to instead return them to their local Tesco branch.

Tesco is also recalling two batches of its Nuby Incredible Gulp cups because, according to the supermarket, “there is a small chance that the silicone straw and spout in the lid of the cup may be damaged”.

The retailer continued: “If the straw or spout is damaged then the mouth part of the spout could become detached, if it’s pulled. This part may be a potential choking hazard.”

It added: “If you’ve bought an affected product, please don’t use it. Instead, go to the Nuby UK website and fill in the product recall form to arrange for a return and refund.

“Alternatively, you can return it to a Tesco store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required.”

Sainsbury’s

Sansbury’s currently has two active recalls, having published two notices for customers to read on its website.

Like Tesco, the supermarket is recalling a slew of pastry products, including Sainsbury’s Ready rolled puff pastry, Pizza Express Pre-Rolled Dough, Pizza Express Ready to Roll Dough, Galberts Shortcrust Pastry, and Galberts Puff Pastry.

In its second notice, Sainsbury’s said it is recalling the Jus Rol Chilled Puff Block and the Jus Rol Frozen Shortcrust Block.

These products are being recalled due to the potential presence of salmonella.

Marks and Spencer

The supermarket is recalling its Made Without Wheat Gluten Free White Sourdough Cob due to the possibility of it containing a small amount of wheat flour, or gluten.

This is despite gluten not being mentioned on the label.

In its notice to shoppers, Mark and Spencer said: “Any customers in possession of this product who have a wheat or gluten allergy or intolerance, or who wish to exchange the product, can return it to their nearest store where a full refund will be given.

“No other M&S products are affected.

“We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused.”

Lidl

Lidl is recalling its Deluxe Stuffed Dates with a best before date of January 21, 2022.

The supermarket said: “If you have bought the above mentioned product we advise you not to eat it.

“Instead, return it to a Lidl GB store for a full refund, with or without a receipt.

“No other Deluxe products in Lidl GB stores are affected by this recall.”

It added: “Lidl GB wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

The product is being recalled due to the potential presence of salmonella, which Lidl said can trigger gastrointestinal symptoms.
