What are the duties of the Pages of Honour?

In Medieval times, pages can be seen in paintings carrying the train of various royals and nobility.

Pages during this time had many duties including dressing, preparing for combat, serving, and cleaning clothes and weapons.

Rather than being demeaning, this role was seen as a form of education, whereupon completion the young boy could become a squire and eventually a knight.

In modern times the duties of a Page have been reduced to just one crucial duty.

The only duty for a Page of Honour is to carry the Monarch's long robe train.

Similar to page boys in weddings who carry the bride's train.
