UGG Created Colorful Shoes That Are Made From Carbon-Neutral, Plant-Based Materials

Listen up: your favorite UGG shoes are going sustainable with the brand’s Plant Power Collection. Iconic styles are being reimagined with eco-friendly materials like renewable sugarcane, Hevea rubber, and natural hemp. The brand also recently came out with a supercozy collection with designer Telfar. (We’re still not over those fuzzy bags!) Pieces like the brand’s ever-popular fluff franchise, the Fluff Sugar Platform and Fluff Sugar Sandal, are all made from responsibly sourced materials. The Platform Sandals come in pink and yellow and are priced at $120, while the regular Fluff Sugar Sandals come in white, pink, yellow, and blue. They are priced at $110.

The third shoe the brand has re-created are the Neumel Natural chukkas, which are created from plant-based materials like cozy lining with Tencel Lyocell. The $140 shoes are handcrafted, and the small-batch soles are made of Lactae Hevea, a latex harvested from the Hevea rubber tree. The shoe’s upper is woven from an environmentally preferred blend of 55 percent cotton and 45 percent hemp. UGG states that the Plant Power Collection is just the beginning. The brand has set goals to increase its use of recycled, repurposed, regenerated (plant-based), renewable (bio-based), and certified fibers by 35 percent by 2027. Keep reading to get a closer look at the new collection and shop some pieces.
