AT THIS point every possible handy kitchen gadget has been invented, but the problem is that most of us don't know how to use them.

Of course, we know how to use a grater to shred food but what about the mystery fourth side of a box?

Many of us just write it off as a pro's tool that we'll never need so don't investigate.

But people are now realising what that final panel was designed for and their minds are blown by the revelation.

Taking to Reddit, one person posted a picture of their grater with the question: "Does anybody ever use this part of the grater? What is it even for??"

They added: "All this has ever done is hurt my hand, but I've literally never used those smalls hole graters ever.

Although it quickly became apparent, many other weren't sure either.

A third said: "Yea but took years to figure out, Parmesan and lemon/orange/ lime zest is best shredded on those 2 sides."
