I’m a laundry pro – you NEED to stop using fabric softener & a surprising item works instead, it's already in your home | The Sun

FABRIC softener often feels like a laundry luxury rather than essential, from penny pinchers to college students the product is often avoided.

Using a simple kitchen essential, you can save yourself money on fabric softener, and still leave you clothes smelling and feeling fresh.

TikToker Carolina McCauley showed her followers how to leave your clothes smelling fresh and feeling soft with a cheap household item.

"I don’t know who needs to hear this but you need to stop using fabric softeners," Carolina told her followers.

Instead, the TikToker recommended using a $1 household item, available in any grocery store.

She continued: "Try this instead: White vinegar is great. It softens fabrics, helps to loosen soap buildup, remove stains."
