THERE’S nothing like coming home to fresh flowers and plants, as they brighten up every room they’re placed in.
But there is something that can make it even better – knowing your blooms are absolute bargains.
But how do you bag supermarket flowers and plants for a fraction of their usual price?
That’s exactly what viewers will discover in the opening episode of Secrets of Your Supermarket Food, which airs on Channel 5 on Thursday 1 September.
Presenters Alexis Conran and Angellica Bell join forces to uncover some hidden gems about the nations’ favourite purchases from popular supermarkets.
In one segment dedicated to discovering more about the sometimes negative impact of air fresheners and scented candles, an expert suggests house plants as a great alternative to purify your home’s air.

Which is where plant expert and gardener Jodie Hopewell comes in, as she lends her expertise to the programme.
Lifting the lid on how to make the most of your money in the plant aisle at the supermarket, Jodie says shoppers should keep their eyes out for the infamous yellow discount sticker.
She explains: “Quite a few of my plants at home are from supermarkets.
“Quite often, the plants will get the yellow stickers in the same way that the fruit and vegetables and other foods will as well.
