I work at Sainsburys & there's lots of annoying things customers say & stop asking if you can have any items for free

SUPERMARKET checkout staff serve hundreds of customers day in, day out.

So it may not surprise you to hear that receiving the same comments every few hours can get a little boring for staff – not to mention annoying.

And Sainsbury's worker Akafi Ali, who is from the UK, has taken to TikTok to reveal the remarks he hates hearing the most when he's on a day shift.

According to the supermarket checkout worker, one of the most pointless comments customers say is, “I’m never shopping here again.”

"What am I going to do with that information?" he says. "Am I supposed to say, 'no sorry, please come back, we want you?'"

No, that is your choice, it’s your choice to enter the store – not my choice."

He also notes that it's infuriating when customers ask for £300 cash back.

"What do you think this is – a bank?" he quips. "No, this is a supermarket…go to the bank. I can only do £20 or £50."

Akafi also finds it annoying when shoppers sarcastically comment that he "looks happy to be here."

"I’d rather not, but the manager is looking at me so I have to show some teeth…now leave me alone," he jokes.

Concluding the list of annoying remarks, Akafi continues: "Lastly we have, 'this must be for free.'"

“Yeah yeah you can just take it – no, buy it!" he jokes. "Do you think you’re going to rip it off and it’s going to say ‘this is for free.’ No you’re not. Don’t play dumb."

In a second clip, the Sainsbury's worker goes on to note his other bug bears which include customers who ask “how much is it?” and those who say, “I only came here for one thing."

And it wasn’t long before other supermarket workers took to the comments section in agreement with Akafi – and admitted to hating the same repetitive remarks.

“I’m dying…me at M&S," wrote one.

A second penned: “Yea, I’m guilty of the last one,” while a third added: “I love it! This is soo true – you really made me laugh today thanks so much xx”

Meanwhile, Sainsbury's customers also had a lot to say on the matter.
