I transformed my boring bathroom tiles into luxe marbled dupes & all you need is a feather, sponge & grey paint | The Sun

YOU CAN easily spend thousands of pounds on new tiling – especially if you want a luxury material like marble.

But one DIY whizz has revealed how she transformed her boring bathroom tiles into luxe faux marble ones.

Posting to the TikTok account, Prairie Style Home, the woman shared how she completed the transformation using a feather, sponge, and grey paint – and people couldn’t believe the results.

In the clip, she said: “Here’s how I used a turkey feather and paint to take my floors from this to this,” as she shows a before and after of her bathroom.

The DIY whizz first started by cleaning the floors and then adding three coats of Rust-Oleum floor-based coat in white.

She then taped off some of the tiles to get the ready for decorating.

Then she transferred grey paint onto a paper plate and then began dipping a seawall sponge into it and sponging it onto the ties to create the marble effect.

She added: “I used a turkey feather for the veins and a paintbrush to darken areas inside the veining.”
