Thinking viewers would react differently, TikTok user Emma put on a bikini and argued she always looks her best in the two-piece swimsuit.
Our view of ourselves doesn't have to match the perception others have of us.
For Emma, it's not just the sun-kissed glow she can get in her bikini, it's the actual bathing suit that she believes makes her look good.
However, outside perspectives didn't seem to agree as much as she thought they would.
Emma posted a video claiming people think she goes from a five to a 10 when wearing a bikini, and she didn't receive the response she wanted.

And viewers had a lot to say, just not exactly what she wanted to hear.
The blunt critics made their ratings.
"5 to a 6 maybe, but that's it," one rude commenter said, while another wrote: "3.4 to a 4.7."
"They lie," a nasty viewer commented.
One kind person disagreed with the haters.
"Not sure who said you're a 5. they need to check their vision for sure," they argued.
Another supporter added: "You look amazing."
