Carole Middleton ‘has cracking pair of legs’ but still dresses ‘conservatively’

Carole Middleton, 68, is a fashion icon when it comes to famous mothers and one of the most fashionable extended members of the Royal Family.

Celebrity stylist and royal expert Leroy Dawkins spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk to explain what fashion trends Carole follows.

He claimed: “At 68 years young Carole Middleton, the mother of our future Queen, has become a style maven in her own right.

“She has on numerous occasions been spotted wearing the Princess of Wales’s clothes. As to whether they buy the same things or share clothing is unknown.

“But with the Princess of Wales championing sustainable fashion I think this would most probably be the latter.”

The expert explained whether Carole’s fantastic figure impacts what she likes to wear.

He opined: “Whether off duty or on duty, Carole has had an amazing figure for years and this also comes through with her fashion choices and staples.

“For formal occasions, Carole’s go-to staples are normally pastels and bold colours such as cobalt blue and in the form of a coat mostly closed with a tone-on-tone sleek dress inside and a side sitting brim hat.

“Off duty, her style becomes more relaxed in jeans and white shirts and dressing more like the country set. I think her style tips for dressing would be to keep it modern, clean and age-appropriate which is far more becoming for women of a certain age and very pleasing to the eye… Carole rarely gets it wrong.

“Rumour has it that Carole does dress sentimentally with her clothing. With her fashion, she tends to favour Catherine Walker which was a firm favourite with the late Diana, Princess of Wales.

“In a nod to the groom’s mother, she wore an outfit designed by the British fashion label to the Sussex’s wedding – also as a tribute to absent family members.”

Miranda Holder, a celebrity stylist and royal fashion expert exclusively told Express.co.uk: “The Middletons and Kate all operate within a small social circle in which a particular dress code is usually preferred which further narrows down the sartorial options.

“The fact that they all dress so similarly is more proof of just how tight the Middleton family unit is, which is touching.

“Carole is clearly very proud of her beautiful daughter (and who wouldn’t be) and wearing similar if not the same clothes is a lovely way of announcing this to the world.”

The expert explained Carole’s tips for looking so youthful at the age of 68.

Miranda explained: “Carole, much like her daughters, prefers classic, unfussy styles which always look elegant. She opts for pieces such as shirt dresses, and occasion coats which are timeless rather than high fashion so they transcend the seasons and years, the subtle tailoring providing a flattering framework to her shapely figure.

“Carole also adds a youthful edge to her look by having a bit of fun with her accessories. Additions such as headbands, interesting shoes and oversized handbags bring freshness to her look and keep us guessing! She also has a cracking pair of legs and is not afraid to show them off.”

Style expert Bella Hignett commented exclusively for Express.co.uk: “Carole Middleton is a conservative dresser and dresses entirely appropriately and tastefully at all times.

“As the mother of the future Queen, she can’t put a step wrong. She has a great figure and knows what suits her shape. She looks like she has lost a bit of weight over the past few years.

“She adopts a safe simple style – her outfits are never too bold, or too tight or too short but always impeccably put together, elegant and sophisticated.

“She wears a host of different colours and tends to favour labels such as Catherine Wakeley, ME+EM, Jane and Boden.”
