The second match, the women’s tag team WrestleMania Showcase, didn’t quite live up the standard set by last night’s Fatal Four Way bout.
In the end, Ronda Rousey – who is nursing an injury and had limited involvement throughout the bout – made Shotzi tap out to the armbar to give the Baddest Woman on the Planet and her teammate Shayna Baszler the win.
Bobby Lashley came out to celebrate with the Andre The Giant trophy after winning the memorial battle royal on SmackDown, but the segment ended without incident despite speculation the All Mighty could still have a role to play amid Bray Wyatt’s absence.
Sheamus, Drew McIntyre and GUNTHER went to war over the Intercontinental Title in a match that fully lived up to the hype and delivered an extreme level of physicality.
All three men left the ring battered and bruised, but it was the Ring General who got the win to keep his run as champion going strong.
After Shane O’Mac’s legitimate injury, this showed quick thinking by everyone involved – especially the hip hop legend – to save a segment which could easily have fallen flat by the end.
In a brutal Hell In A Cell match which almost took a turn after Finn Balor got busted open, Edge picked up a win over his long term rival with the mat stained with blood.
