Since its launch in July last year, YOHJI YAMAMOTO Inc.’s new WILDSIDE project has playfully defined its military and workwear style codes with contemporary collaborations and seasonal collections. This season, the label hones in on its various inspirations, presenting a haunting take on functional garments.
At the core of the range, WILDSIDE delivers versatile jacket and trouser sets crafted from a range of robust materials including heavy-weight 10oz Japanese denim and high-density cotton. As well as allowing wear throughout the seasons, the traditional workwear fabrics are tinted in deep indigo and black shades which set the tone for the dark collection.
Uplifting the fabrics to a contemporary aesthetic, the label draws inspiration from Yohji Yamamoto POUR HOMME line as interpretations of the brand’s signature paper bag silhouette are worked into the co-ord sets. With large pockets and exposed stitching, they create an updated coverall look when worn together.
To round off the collection, WILDSIDE drops various mid-layer tops that bring character to the range with black and white prints. Each piece of artwork featured depicts an alluring female figure surrounded by florals, eye masks and other motifs.
