We have so much brilliant television ahead of us, including HBO’s adaptation of The Time Traveler’s Wife, which will star Rose Leslie and Theo James.
Ever since she broke our hearts as Ygritte in Game Of Thrones, we’ve quite understandably been a little bit obsessed with Rose Leslie.
The actor – who is married to Kit Harrington (he of course played her on-screen romantic interest, Jon Snow) – has also starred in hit shows such as Downton Abbey, Luther, The Good Fight and Vigil.
So we’re pretty excited about what she’s doing next – taking the lead in a HBO TV adaptation of the hugely popular book, Audrey Niffenegger’s The Time Traveler’s Wife.

Starring opposite Leslie will be fellow former Downton Abbey star Theo James and the two will lead the cast as Henry DeTamble and Clare Abshire.
The story follows the complicated marriage between Henry (James), who has a genetic disorder that causes him to time travel unpredictably, and Clare (Leslie), who has to cope with his frequent absences and dangerous experiences of reappearing in odd places.
And now, HBO Max has finally dropped some new first look images of the upcoming series.
As well as getting our first sneak peek at Leslie and James, we’ve also been treated to pictures of Natasha Lopez (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) and Desmin Borges (You’re The Worst) as friends Charisse and Gomez.
Even if you haven’t read the bestselling 2003 book, it’s likely that you’ve watched the highly popular 2009 film adaptation starring Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana.
Steven Moffat, who is creating the series and has previously worked on Doctor Who and Sherlock, recently addressed the difference between the 2009 movie and this series in an interview with Deadline.
He said: “We can tell the whole story, the movie was a quite intelligently abbreviated version but abbreviating it you miss all the detail and complexity and make it all about the time travel and not about the love story.”

He added: “What is thrilling of the interaction of time travel and a love story here, is it makes the most common phenomenon of a completely happy marriage, interesting again. Love stories, or love movies, tend to end at the alter. We never do the bit where people are perfectly happy for decades because it seems like a dramatic thing.
“By scrambling it all up and constantly reminding you that love is inextricably linked to loss, which is a cheery thought, you make this very common phenomenon of a happy marriage, thrilling and full of attention and tragedy.”
Although we have these first look images to get excited about, we don’t currently have a confirmed release date. We do know, though, that the anticipated series will be available to stream via HBO Max this year.
