Bandai Namco has shared the first trailer for the upcoming Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections game, the follow-up to 2016’s Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4. Coinciding with the 20th anniversary year of the original anime, the action-fighting title is slated to launch this fall.
Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections holds a lens up to Naruto and Sasuke’s rivalry, containing scenes adapted from the anime. The storyline kicks off with a few scenes from Naruto’s childhood and span until his ultimate showdown with Sasuke. Boruto Uzumaki, Naruto’s son, will also play a key role in gameplay.
“Play a new, original story where Boruto Uzumaki, the son of 7th Hokage and ninja of the new era, is drawn into a great battle involving the entire ninja world after meeting a girl in a popular online game,” Bandai Namco describes.
This installment in the Storm series promises the largest roster of playable characters yet. Players can choose from 130 characters to compete in ninja battles. In addition to characters from previous iterations in the series, the game will present a few new faces, including Delta, Boro and Koji Kashin.
