Vick Hope has finally spoken about all those rumours that she and Calvin Harris are set to walk down the aisle.
The TV presenter, 33, and Scottish DJ, 39, started dating in early 2022, but reports surfaced that the musician had popped the question just five months in.
Calvin – real name Adam Richard Wiles – was said to have got down on one knee on his farm in Ibiza last summer, having splashed out a mega £1million on her sparkling ring.
Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Vick has kept schtum on all the speculation up until now, but has been pictured with a very large rock on her finger and a beaming smile on her face over recent months.
Giving us the answer to the question we’ve all wanted to know, she’s given us a glimpse inside their special moment and confirmed that they are due to become husband and wife in the near future.
Chatting to You magazine, the radio host said she’s prefer to keep the details private.
‘There’s a difference between secrecy and privacy,’ she stated.
However, she did say that a ‘very precious thing has happened’ and that ‘it was… perfect.’
Vick added that her Radio 1 co-host, Jordan North, hasn’t stopped teasing her about the whole thing, especially after she and Calvin spent Christmas zooming around the Caribbean on his private jet.
She later discussed her reluctance to post about her romance online, reflecting back on how she learnt that she didn’t always have to be saying something, just because there was a microphone in front of her.
‘I always felt the need to try to explain – but it then gives more quotes that can be taken further out of context,’ she said of one of her career lessons.
On why she isn’t so eager to divulge details about her love life, Vick went on: ‘We don’t really put anything on social media because the time we have together is “real life” and it’s our own.
‘For the first time in a long time, I’m finishing work and going home to a life that is just mine. I’m learning to find balance and peace.’
What many people might not know, though, is that Vick and Calvin almost got together many years ago… except, she rejected him.
Vick let slip that the One Kiss hitmaker actually made a move on her back in the day, long before he had the accolades he has now.
While Calvin – who has previously dated Taylor Swift and Rita Ora – was enjoying the success of his hit Acceptable in the 80s, Vick turned him down.
‘It’s something that we laughed about on our first proper date. We still laugh about it now,’ she said.
But their worlds ended up colliding once again, and they’re figuring out ways to make their relationship – soon to be marriage – work with packed diaries.
‘We both have very busy work schedules,’ she admitted.
‘I’ll join him when I can and then I come back for my work.’
