Created by Hans Wilsdorf, Tudor Watches began in Geneva, Switzerland, and has now grown into a beloved global brand that has reached far beyond its point of origin. Debuting in 1954 as the timepiece market’s premier diving watch, Tudor caught the attention of the U.S. and French Navy due to its reliable functionality and durability. Using its original diving model as inspiration, the brand formulated a new generation of Tudor watches — including contemporary classics such as the Pelagos Diving and Black Bay lines.
With the co-sign of cycling, sailing, extreme sports, and skating fans alike, the brand has become a go-to for watch collectors and adventurers. The evolution of Tudor saw its fan base expand, now including celebrity ambassadors from David Beckham to Jay Chou. As a result of the brand’s expansion, Tudor has opened up an array of immersive boutiques around the United States, further growing the Tudor universe. “This will further cement a strong presence in the United States for TUDOR as well as expand our brand awareness and network,” a Tudor spokesperson shared.
Over the past few years, Tudor has unveiled various new locations across the U.S. — including boutiques in the South Coast Plaza Shopping Center of Costa Mesa, California, the Meatpacking District, NYC, a Monobrand boutique in Los Angeles, and the brand’s newest boutique in Atlanta’s Lenox Mall. These stores reflect the modern elegance of Tudor watches, sporting the same color schemes throughout each: traditional Tudor red, black, and white. Though many of the locations share aesthetic qualities, some are further catered to their specific locations.
Located just west of Rodeo Drive which is a top-tier shopping destination, the Century City boutique includes a unique Experience Table highlighting a life-size vintage diver and a large library wall with historical articles, creating an immersive, upscale experience for patrons. Retrospectively, the Meatpacking District location in NYC was designed to maintain the rustic qualities of the building it occupies and includes design features inspired by the New York City skyline.
The goal of each storefront is to immerse customers into the world of Tudor further displaying an assortment of men’s and women’s timepieces ranging from classic, to sport, to heritage-inspired styles. The architecture of each location was completely transformed to express the character of the brand. Additionally, Tudor’s signature #BornToDare slogan is highlighted boldly in every boutique, nodding to the original ethos behind the brand which flourished over time, inspiring explorers to continue reaching for the heights in Tudor watches.
