The jewelry imprint Tom Wood and Japan’s Suicoke might seem like an odd partnership, but their last collaboration proved that the two can come together to create some of the latter’s finest pairs, and this has now been continued with the duo’s latest collaboration.
This time around, the luxury elements remain, but what’s special is that Tom Wood has made its own Suicoke silhouette dubbed the Makö Clog. Drawing its name from a small island in the archipelago on the Eastern coast of Norway, the Makö is presented in both black Nappa leather and green suede and each style is adorned with custom gunmetal labeling, hitting up the vamp strap that runs over the foot. It also incorporates Suicoke’s classic running sole unit with a PU suede footbed for added comfort, while the backless mule styling at the rear allows for easy on-off indoor-outdoor use.
Complementing the new style is Tom Wood’s update of the Suicoke Vega sandal. Available in “Olive Green” or “Sunshine Yellow,” the pair is based on the GGA model and updates this with functional hiking-inspired straps around the ankle. Again, hardware is upgraded in the gunmetal finish, while a proprietary footbed adds all-day comfort.
No word has been said on the pricing, but expect it to be in line with Tom Wood’s previous Suicoke collaboration. The pairs will release in late April at various retailers worldwide and at the flagship Tom Wood store in Oslo.
In other news, Marni has given Veja’s classic sneakers a playful twist.
