Baltimore-based retailer YCMC holds an extensive list of collaborative releases under its belt, often uniting with New Balance for exclusive colorways on its notorious models. The duo has previously collided to produce unique renditions of the992 and 990v5, most recently releasing a neutral-toned 990v3 for daily wear.
YCMC and New Balance are teaming up again for another version of the 990v3, this time looking to the great outdoors for inspiration. The former reimagines the staple model through an alfresco viewpoint, dipping it in earthy hues with slight pops of color.
Made for trailblazing pioneers, the 990v3 is reimagined through an archival yet modern lens. The sneaker sees dusty green suede spread across the uppers with a rugged finish, while breathable black mesh sits beneath and allows for increased durability when in motion. In addition, the collaborative effort dons vibrant dashes of purple on the quilted tongues and plastic heel caps alongside speckled teal decorations on the back half of cushioned ENCAP sole units.
Standard New Balance branding lands on the tongues and heel counters, while two-toned rubber bottoms complete the design with four customizable lace options.
Take a closer look at the YCMC-exclusive New Balance 990v3 in the gallery above. The sneaker is set to drop in-store and online via the YCMC website on February 2 for $195 USD.
