Whether it be looking to nature (which fueled several collections in different ways), focusing on seamlessly elevated design details or just positing chic staples, Dominic Sondag’s New York-based label, s.k. manor hill has a gnack for calmly attractive pieces. The brand’s new collection for the Fall/Winter 2023 season is no different as it harbors an air of effortless cool.
To bring to fruition his latest vision, Sondag looks inward at his Western background for inspiration. As such the collection’s character comes together through a fusion of Western elements and classic vintage workwear – for an offering that is unequivocally Americana. Although the latest leans into mid-19th century stylings, which is apparent via garments like classic jackets and work-oriented pants, the wardrobe still has a contemporary touch.
Whether it be a fuzzy rust-colored cardigan, coffee-colored cotton fleece pants with fridge trim, baggy deep indigo denim or exaggeratedly oversized button-down shirt, every piece focuses on elevated craftsmanship and utility. Enhancing the lot is a range of organic and recycled fabrications spanning cotton, recycled nylon, Suri Alpaca, leather, fur-faux and more. Aside from its appealing outerwear pieces, tailoring serves as a collection highlight via double-breasted suits that carry a soft attitude.
