RIMOWA recently collaborated with creative studio Any Other Name on a new campaign that comprises 26 different short films exploring the brand’s history.
Ben Atkins and his London-based AON venture created a video series that adds a multi-dimensional aspect to Rimowa’s 123-year journey, titled RIMOWA, AN ALPHABET. Using CGI technology, AON produced several innovative films based on one “word” that best describes the brand.
The project’s goal was to connect each letter of the alphabet using a singular concept, allowing AON to work with the brand’s archived material. A few highlighted examples include the letter ‘C’ standing for RIMOWA’s ‘collaborations’ (with Off-White, Supreme and others) and the letter ‘R’ standing for the brand’s lifetime ‘repair’ service.
Discussing the creative process of the collaboration, Atkins says: “RIMOWA, AN ALPHABET is the studio’s first foray into an all-CGI production. We were only able to realize this project by leveraging our deep understanding of RIMOWA — something we have acquired over the past five years of working with the brand — and with the help of an incredible extended team of CGI artists.”
“The process was highly collaborative and iterative to ensure each story was engaging and communicative whilst crafting photorealism into the scenes of all 26 films,” he added.
RIMOWA has made each film available on its website to offer customers the whole experience of the project.
