Rebekah Vardy to give her side of the story in explosive Wagatha Christie doc

The Wagatha Christie saga continues as Rebekah Vardy gears up to tell her side of the story for a new docu-series.

Vardy v Rooney: The Wagatha Christie Trial gripped the nation earlier this summer when Vardy, 40, lost a libel battle against 36-year-old Rooney over a viral social media post.

In the post, shared in October 2019, Rooney said she had carried out a months-long ‘sting operation’ and accused Vardy of leaking ‘false stories’ about her private life to the press.

Despite the judge ruling that Rebekah was the source of the leak, the mother-of-five has vehemently denied this.

While Rooney will not be involved with the series, set to be released by Discovery+, Vardy will be interviewed in the first episode along with her lawyer, according to MailOnline.

It’s reported the pair will talk about the pressures of the court case, as well as the allegations themselves.

The publication also reported the second episode looks at the case from Rooney’s point of view, along with other contributors, such as friends and journalists that covered the trial.

The high-profile court case has already been secured for on-screen dramatisations, with Channel 4 creating a two-part film titled Vardy v Rooney: A Courtroom Drama.

Rooney will be portrayed by Chanel Cresswell, while Vardy will be played by Natalia Tena.

It is also set to be turned into a stage production for one night only on the West End.

Tickets went on sale last week, selling out within minutes.

In August, Disney Plus said it is also creating a three-part documentary series about the court battle with ‘exclusive access’ to Rooney.

Metro.co.uk has contacted representatives for Rebekah Vardy for comment.

Vardy vs Rooney: The Wagatha Trial will be available to stream on Discovery+ from Saturday, November 19.
