It’s official — Raf Simons is showing his Spring/Summer 2023 collection in London. Previously axing his headline show during London Fashion Week following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Simons’ canceled show caused a shockwave within the fashion community as this was set to be many a showgoer’s first Simons show. Alas, the week went on with only minor hiccups along the way, and now following in Burberry‘s footsteps to reschedule, Simons has announced he will show during Frieze London in October.
The announcement follows yet another stellar Prada collection co-created alongside Miuccia Prada, which debuted on the runway for Milan Fashion Week SS23. With this in mind, it’s clear that the lauded designer is keeping himself busy, but as recent Simons shows have shown this has not taken its toll on his own label.
Instead, Raf’s creativity seems to be at an all-time high. As spotlighted in the recently-released Fall/Winter 2022 campaign, the Belgian designer’s FW22 collection served sinister nightclub-ready looks infiltrated by skin-tight vinyl, fuzzy mohair hats, and couture inspirations outfitting even the simplest of things, like a bag. But, with every season comes a new energy from Simons, and it’s set to be a big one for SS23 given the anticipation surrounding his London debut.
In a short statement, the brand said:
“We are so happy to be able to bring the collection to London and celebrate the forthcoming season.”
Raf Simons will showcase his SS23 collection during Frieze London on October 13. Stay tuned to Hypebeast for more information.
