The Thai-born, Central Saint Martins graduate Patcharavipa is dominating the custom watch market with creations unlike those from any other, and their new drop is nothing short of magical.
Working exclusively with Dover Street Market London, the designer takes vintage and pre-loved watches and gives them one-of-a-kind makeovers. For this new drop, we find an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, Audemars Piguet Bamboo, Rolex Cellini King Midas, Rolex Asymmetric Cellini, Rolex Oyster Perpetual, Rolex Oysterdate Perpetual, Rolex Cellini, and a Vacheron Constantin Prestige De La France, all treated to Patcharavipa’s touch.
The Royal Oak is of particular interest. The 1998 model is covered in 18K yellow gold and has a sapphire crystal covering, revealing the almost silk-like face beneath in a 24mm diameter body. It retails for £48,000, but has nothing on the £80,000 Rolex Cellini King Midas from 1975, which sports a similar mottled and beaten 18K yellow gold body and bracelet alongside a Lapis Lazuli dial.
The 1980 AP Bamboo features an original 18k yellow and white gold case that’s been given the quintessential Patcharavipa look, while other items are much subtler, opting for .925 sterling silver bracelets and 18K Siam white gold bezels on the Rolex Oysterdate Perpetual, or blonde crocodile leather bracelets on the custom Asymmetric Rolex Cellini, for example.
Take a look at the selection of watches above, and shop the range online or at Dover Street Market London’s outpost now.
In other news, Rolex has built new factories to keep up with high demand.
