Overstocked Designer Items Find a New Home With Scarce, The Mystery Box

Jacob Metzger and Yossi Shetrit have combined their passion for designer goods and penchant for ‘the art of the deal’ with the release of their newly co-founded project Scarce, The Mystery Box.

As a luxury subscription service, overstocked – and backstock – designer items find a new home with Scarce. Items are sourced and curated by the co-founders and include offerings from brands such as Rick Owens, Off-White, Dior, Rhude and more.

Dropping exclusively once each month, only a certain number of boxes are curated – up to 150 total – helping to emphasize the brand’s ethos of scarcity and limited items. Each box contains two to three pieces, with customers being able to select their favorite brands in advance of box delivery.

Discussing the basis of the company’s development, Metzger and Shetrit shared: “In the current climate, there are fewer opportunities for consumers to interact with brands, so Scarce represents a new marketing channel as well. We want to celebrate this inventory, while also making the industry a bit less wasteful – and brands appreciate that.”

Fans of the subscription service include Gunna, Lil Yachty, Metro Boomin and Bloody Osiris.

Scarce boxes are available on the company’s website, and retail for $398 USD – but the value of each box easily reaches up to $900 USD based on the premium goods inside.
