Focussing on sensory stimulation, jewelry name SWEETLIMEJUICE expanded on its experimental styles with its Spring/Summer 2022 “COLLECTION 006.” Marked by osseous structures and surrealist pigmentation, the new range serves to provoke the sense of touch, building on the emotional thrill of physical embraces.
London-based designer Simpson Ma reflected upon his own personal experiences under lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic, developing an aesthetic outlook around a longing for stimulation and passion born from the numbness of isolation. Continuing to explore the bounds of silver, cutting, soldering and discarding fueled by architectural forms in nature created the shapes found in the range.
Further inspirations come from glass artist Matthew Szösz’s artworks and Japanese “Kamon” emblems, which notably come through on the clustered points that grasp topaz on the Eyrie Trillion Ring. Another notable style is the Cauda Ear Cuff drawn from the angular, sharp skeleton of a pufferfish and the curved points of star anise. Completing the range are limited gold-plated silver pieces like the Gold Half Stone Signet Ring, Mixed Chain Necklace and Eryn Navette Choker.
Available at select retailers now, check out SWEETLIMEJUICE’s SS22 “COLLECTION 006” above.
