Japanese label namamica has returned with its Fall/Winter 2021 collection, continuing its focus on “heart-warming life-tech wear” suitable to our conditions. Throughout the collection, four themes are introduced that cover different elements of our everyday life, from our journey to the office to holidays on the beach.
The first theme from the collection is titled “Any Time Works,” and comprises of “seasonless, genderless, ageless, genreless” pieces such as a coverall and pants set in moleskin, heavy duty sweatshirts and classic pocket tees. nanamica’s FW21 collection also has the “Heading to the Office” section, which the brand describes as being “comfortable clothing for creatives working in the city.”
This theme is encapsulated by a new lightweight and functional coat that mixes the high-performance fabric of durable recycled polyester with the natural moisture dispersing, deodorizing, thermal, and water repellent properties of ZQ merino wool.
Reflecting on the last year, another reference point is “Home Office Wear” — which incorporates the functional and comfortable KODENSHI fabric into T-shirts, cardigans and turtlenecks —while the final theme is titled “The Wind, The Sun and The Sea.” This influence is referenced through insulated jackets, mohair sweaters and windproof anoraks to allow for fall and winter outdoors.
Launching the collection, nanamica said, “We are currently imagining what it will be like in Fall/Winter 2021. We are living in a situation that we have previously never experienced before. Because our activities are restricted, we feel more than ever the need to make our everyday living more comfortable. We hope that you can try nanamica’s tech wear and spend a comfortable, relaxing time.”
