Meghan Markle fans are always clamoring for new snapshots of the Duchess of Sussex, so one of her former co-stars had a great idea to share behind-the-scenes photos of their time on Suits. However, he picked the wrong time to do it and got into a bit of hot water over it.
Patrick J. Adams, who played Mike Ross on the USA Network drama series, posted a carousel of now-deleted images on his Instagram account, including a cute picture of Meghan lying upside down on the floor in her Rachel Zane wardrobe while dangling her foot in the air. She was sitting by Sarah Rafferty, who played Donna Paulsen, and Adams captioned the image, “I miss my friends.” While the social media share was well-meaning, it came at a time when promoting a show from a struck network is strictly forbidden by the SAG-AFTRA actors’ union.
Adams issued an apology on his Instagram Story after deleting the post in his feed. He wrote, “The last couple of days I foolishly and thoughtlessly let a trip down Suits memory lane distract me from the very real and ongoing fight everyone in @sagafstra continues to wage in its effort to win out membership realistic 21st Century compensation and protections.” He noted the “embarrassing oversight” and apologized profusely.
The 42-year-old actor also thanked his friends who reminded him about the strike rules, and he took the criticism with aplomb. “So grateful to those who gently and swiftly course corrected me here and I look forward to continuing the fight in the days and weeks ahead,” he summed up. Fans of Meghan certainly understand how he got swept up in the nostalgic moment, but there will hopefully be plenty of strike-free days in the future to share those fun moments in time with Suits viewers again.
