Katie Price fans rattled as she announces panto role this Christmas

Katie Price fans are well and truly in bits at the news she will be starring in a pantomime this Christmas.

While some are wondering how we’re looking towards the festive season when, er, it’s not even May yet, others are absolutely buzzing the 44-year-old will be hitting up the stage as evil fairy Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty.

The Mucky Mansion star shared the news via a vibrant purple poster of her in character and centre stage wearing a fabulous devil horn headpiece.

‘I’m beyond excited for this…Catch me as Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty at the M&S Bank Arena, Liverpool over Christmas 💜🎼😘’ the former glamour model wrote alongside the image.

The show will take place at Liverpool’s M&S arena from December 16 to 30, and tickets start at £24.50.

Co-starring alongside Katie will be Britain’s Got Talent finalist Lucy Kay and comedy star Bippo.

On her new role, Katie said: ‘I am so excited to be performing in Liverpool. I love the city and can’t wait to bring my kids along with me and make some amazing memories.’

Fans flooded to comment on the news, as one wrote, ‘Can’t waaaaiitt!! 🙌🙌’ while another congratulated Katie and vowed they’d ‘definitely be coming to watch’.

But some of her 2.6million Instagram followers were baffled that Katie was already announcing the pantomime news so early in the year.

One person wrote, ‘Shut up talking about Xmas already. Jesus !!’ as another chimed in: ‘it is early on in the year to think about Christmas lol’.

Others weren’t so convinced Katie would actually see the pantomime stint through, after she cancelled a makeup masterclass last year, leaving some fans disappointed.

‘Will do a couple of shows then make excuses to pull out 🙄’ predicted one person, while someone else said: ‘Got a feeling that you will pull out of this’.

But Katie has previously played the ‘wicked fairy’ in a Woking Sleeping Beauty pantomime in 2015.

A review in Surrey Live dubbed the show ‘one of the funniest pantos I’ve ever seen’, and admitted Katie was a bit ‘wooden’ but really got the crowd going.

This comes as Katie was declared bankrupt in 2019 after failing to pay debts totalling £3.2million.

Her hearing is ongoing.
