Katherine Ryan makes first public outing since Russell Brand 'predator' comments

Katherine Ryan has attended a charity event in the wake of the revelation that she called Russell Brand a ‘predator’ in unaired footage.

The Duchess star looked glam as she arrived at the Who Cares Wins awards on Tuesday, September 19, at The Roundhouse in London.

Ryan, 40, opted for an a-symmetric lavender top which showed her toned abs, paired with black trousers and metallic heels.

She beamed for pictures on the red carpet after old comments about Russell Brand came to light amid his sexual assault allegations.

Brand, 48, was accused of rape, emotional abuse and sexual abuse by several women in a Channel 4 special episode of Dispatches airing in a joint investigation with The Times.

The Get Him to the Greek actor has denied the allegations, posting a YouTube video before the episode was shown to the public where he claimed all relationships were consensual.

Ryan is said to have outed allegations against Brand while working together on Comedy Central’s Roast Battle in 2018.

During the show, the panel aimed jabs at each other with the Canadian comedian apparently leaving the St Trinians’ actor ‘furious’.

Her dig, which never made it to air, reportedly said: ‘I will remind you of that if any victims come out.’

Brand was only a judge for that season, replaced the following year with Jonathan Ross.

It’s thought that Roast Battle’s production company Fulwell 73 had also grown ‘uncomfortable with the rumours swirling’ around Brand’s alleged behaviour.

In an interview with Louis Theroux, Ryan discussed an unnamed ‘predator’ known by comedians to be working in the industry.

She shared that she had called them as much to their face but called her discussion with the documentarian a ‘litigious minefield’.

‘It’s not really my story to tell,’ she told Theroux. ‘No one has perpetrated any sexual assault against me, but this person, I believe very strongly – many people believe very strongly – is an open secret, is a perpetrator of sexual assault.

‘I, in front of loads of people, in the format of the show said to this person’s face that they are a predator.’

Ryan has not confirmed whether her comments were about Brand, keeping quiet on the matter so far.

She arrived at the Who Cares Wins awards, hosted by Davina McCall, which honours those working in the health and social care sector.

The awards were set up in 2017 to celebrate hardworking healthcare professionals and ordinary people within the field.

They are televised on Channel 4 and have been for the past three years, partnering with The Sun and NHS Charities Together.
