Henry Cavill is 'strict' with Millie Bobby Brown and has friendship boundaries

Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill have struck up a close friendship on the set of Enola Holmes 2 – but they have ‘strict’ boundaries in place.

The 18-year-old actress has delved into her ‘camaraderie’ with her 39-year-old co-star, and admitted it’s a different bond to the ones she shares with her Stranger Things pals.

Giving the likes of Noah Schnapp, 18, and Charlie Heaton, 28, as an example, she told Deadline: ‘It’s different because I grew up with Noah and Charlie. I met them when I was 10. So, for me, it does feel like your schoolmates. And with Henry, it feels like a real adult relationship.’

Millie and Henry first met when filming got underway for Netflix’s first Enola Holmes film in July 2019, in which she plays the title role with Cavill as her detective brother, Sherlock Holmes.

‘[We have] like a really good friendship, a really healthy one. One that we have terms and conditions,’ she explained, noting that her older co-star had some rules put in place.

She added: ‘I know Henry. He has terms and conditions with me. I’m not allowed to ask about his personal life. It’s like, “Millie, shut up. No.” And I’m like “Understood.” ‘

It’s a world away from the way she is with her Stranger Things co-stars, given that they all grew up together working on the show over the past six years.

She said: ‘Whereas with the Stranger Things kids, it’s different. There’s no boundaries because it’s like we’re all siblings. But with Henry, he’s very strict with me, which I appreciate.’

Meanwhile, Millie recently admitted there’s another huge difference on the sets, as she’s able to break the fourth wall as Enola in the Sherlock Holmes spin-off.

However, she confessed that she was worried that her more casual manner of acting for the film series could end up being carried across to the sci-fi favourite, which she’s starred in since 2016.

While speaking during a Q&A at the New York premiere of Enola Holmes 2 in New York, Millie drew parallels between filming Enola Holmes with ‘vlogging on YouTube all day long’.

‘It’s like, “Come along with me on another journey. I wake up. I go on another case,” I mean, it’s amazing,’ she said, according to Today. ‘While filming, I had a dream that I was on the set of Stranger Things, and I couldn’t stop looking at the camera.’

She added: ‘And now, I have this deep-rooted fear that now I will never stop looking at the camera. So now, I’m so obsessed with it.’
