Following the release of its second CRUXGG kitchenware collection, Ghetto Gastro has now teamed up with Gustiamo, an independent Bronx-based importer of the most authentic and real food from Italy, for a rare and limited edition extra virgin olive oil.
Dubbed “PRESSURE Vol. 1,” the olive oil builds on Gustiamo’s mission to improve the quality of Italian food in the United States while supporting artisanal gastronomic traditions and connecting good farmers and food makers in Italy with eaters and home cooks across the U.S. The special olive oil is made from two 500+ year old Leone di Carpineto olive trees in Italy. The olives used were hand-harvested, washed, pressed, and bottled within hours of picking from the tree. The process resulted in the freshest Italian olive oil in the country. Limited to only 150 bottles, “PRESSURE Vol. 1” stands as the first olive harvest from Italy in the United States, this year.
Priced at $77 USD, the Gustiamo x Ghetto Gastro “PRESSURE Vol.1” extra virgin olive oil is available now on Gustiamo’s website. It is interesting to note that all proceeds will be donated to the charity organization Food for Soul refettorio in Harlem by Massimo Bottura and his wife Lara.
