Gino D’Acampo has rubbished claims there’s drama between him and his Road Trip co-stars Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix.
The This Morning chef, 46, announced his departure from the travel series citing scheduling conflicts, with his shock exit reportedly ‘blindsiding’ Gordon, 56, and the First Dates star, 51.
Since the Italian cook’s departure, rumours have swirled the trio had been ‘feuding’, with Fred himself previously revealing Gino and Gordon are often ‘at loggerheads.’
But when grilled by Susanna Reid and Ed Balls on Tuesday’s Good Morning Britain about the reason behind his exit, Gino insisted all was well between the trio.
Ed gently probed whether the contractual issues could be resolved, with Gino admitting there had been lots of ‘rumours’ surrounding his departure.
Gino replied: ‘I love the boys. We have a great friendship. So that is not a problem. The problem is contracts. Sometimes they get very overcomplicated.
‘The main [complication] was about the dates, trying to get the dates together. We tried and then we got the date and then they got cancelled.’
Gino continued: ‘And then I thought, “I don’t want to do this any more.” It got too stressful.’
Alluding to the feud rumours, Susanna then asked Gino if it was true Gordon ‘winds you up.’
Gino instantly dismissed the gossip, stating without a moment’s hesitation: ‘No. He’s a good guy.’
Gino also teased fans that Road Trip wasn’t necessarily ‘100% over’ if scheduling could be ironed out.
Announcing his departure from Road Trip on Instagram, Gino previously said: ‘I’ve got a bit of news for you, and the reason I want to tell you is because I don’t want you to read any crap or any wrong information.
‘Last week I decided not to film any more Gordon, Gino and Fred Road Trip, the reason is simple, nothing to do with Gordon and Fred – the friendship is very strong.
‘It’s just because we can’t get the dates together
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
