Hiroshi Fujiwara‘s fragment design has walked hand-in-hand with Converse since the early 2000s, having released countless collaborations ever since. Fujiwara has channeled his innovative mentality across the Converse archive and recently dropped his own Converse By You initiative.
FRGMT and Converse are reuniting to bring back the latter’s 1986 Weapon silhouette. While the Weapon appeared throughout the Converse CX line in 2021 and Rick Owens‘ TURBODRK range, the model’s original form returns for the first time since its prime.
Converse’s on-court legacy inspires the collaboration, maintaining a classic design that speaks to FRGMT’s minimalistic style. White leather uppers dominate the high-top sneaker, featuring “Sport Royal” accents across the collars, liners, and Star Chevron medial logos. Black outlines complement the design, distinguishing the mudguards and throats in linear formation.
Finally, padded tongues boast original Converse Weapon branding, while FRGMT’s lightning bolt emblem is pressed into the heels. The design is complete with yellowed midsoles and black rubber bottoms.
The FRGMT x Converse Weapon will drop via Converse and select retailers on May 11.
Elsewhere, Liberty of London and PUMA reunite for blooming capsule collection.
