Dr. Martens has found plenty of success by participating in collaborative projects every year, especially those that cater to the streetwear audience. And to kick off the Fall/Winter 22 season on a strong note, the British footwear company is embarking on another joint venture with ENGINEERED GARMENTS that involves a reworked version of its classic 1461 boot.
ENGINEERED GARMENTS ‘ founder Daiki Suzuki opts to slightly alter the shape of the low-top silhouette by adding an “overly-engineered” feel to them that is guided but its asymmetrical lacing system. The element spruces up the kicks with a utilitarian-like look and feel as the laces extend further out onto the lateral panel and arrive locked down by hiker boot-inspired metal D-rings. Two colorways are involved in this launch. The first is done up with in black and features smooth leather uppers while the second option is styled with buttery suedes and is wrapped in a “milkshake” hue. Both pairs also come with two-toned laces in case you wanted to switch up their looks.
The ENGINEERED GARMENTS x Dr. Martens FW22 collection will be available in a full range of adult sizing for $230 USD a pop starting Friday, September 9 at select partners at via Dr. Martens.
