New Balance impressed the sneaker community over the last few years through its strong and consistent output of footwear collaborations and hot ticket general releases. And one collection that falls under the category of the latter has been the New Balance 2002R “Protection Pack.” The overall shape of the 2002R is kept intact, but the various overlays appear as if they’ve been gnawed at and the tongues expose their inner foam to give the kicks a more deconstructed look and feel. Next in line for the model is this forthcoming lilac colorway that has just been previewed.
A dusty lilac hue takes shape across the pair’s mesh underlays as well as the aforementioned shaggy suede overlays that run along the heels, mid-foot and toe tips. Extra muted gray accents sit adjacent as they dress up the quarters, lower heels, toe boxes and throat, while creamy applications show up on the laces. The standard 2002R branding pops up on the collars as well as the heels, the latter of which arrives in tonal fashion on the exposed windows.
No release info has emerged just yet, but New Balance and select retailers will likely be dropping these in the coming months.
