Eamonn Holmes 'hopes to be walking unaided again' after 'struggling'

Eamonn Holmes has shared an update on his health and said he hopes to be ‘walking unaided again’.

The broadcaster, 63, has shared his recovery process after he fractured his shoulder towards the end of last year, leading him to take a break from GB News.

He had previously shared how ‘hellish’ his recovery had been from a major back operation, after falling down the stairs and fracturing his shoulder.

Since then, Eamonn is regularly spotted walking with a cane or in a wheelchair, but he’s now said he hopes he’ll be walking unaided again.

In an update on Twitter, he wrote: ‘Saturdays …. I used to love them. They used to mean Football. Now they mean Gym.

‘Heavy Rehabilitation scheduled every Saturday in particular to strengthen my legs and back to hopefully get me walking unaided again….. but I just don’t like it . Wish me well.’

While waiting for them, presenter Stephen Dixon is reported to have said: ‘Eamonn and Isabel are coming up this way.

‘There are two teams, we have Eamonn and Isabel during the week and then me and Ellie [Costello] and Anne Diamond at the weekend.

‘Eamonn as we know, is struggling a bit but he will have something to say in a moment.’

Taking to the stage, Eamonn said: ‘Sorry that took a while… discs in my back, so you don’t have to ask. Look after your backs guys!

‘It’s a bit like real life work, Stephen’s always there before me, it’s the way that things are.’
