Cher has reportedly split from her boyfriend Alexander Edwards.
The Believe star, 76, has been linked to music executive Alexander, 37, since November of last year, and the pair even sparked rumours of an engagement.
But months after she was gifted a giant diamond ring at Christmas, and mere weeks after the couple met each other’s children, it’s reported they have separated.
And not only that, but they were never engaged in the first place and were simply playing up the giant rock on her finger.
Sources have apparently reported to TMZ that the couple, who have a 39-year age difference, broke up some weeks ago.
While it is unclear what sparked the reported split, sources revealed that Cher and AE were never engaged, despite eagerly showing off the ring on her finger.
Instead, the couple were seemingly just playing into speculation they were engaged.
Cher had first revealed the giant diamond in a Twitter post on Christmas Day, with a photo of it in a box – held by AE.
She wrote that she was sharing the post as AE’s ‘nails are so cool,’ and went on to repost the snap – along with other loved-up pictures – days later.
Just a month earlier, the couple were seen together for the first time when they were spotted out for dinner holding hands.
They went public with their relationship shortly after, shrugging off criticism of their almost-40-year age gap as ‘love doesn’t know math.’
Cher, who is active on Twitter, had also responded to a fan who was ‘suspicious of [AE’s] intentions’ after Cher appeared to announce their engagement, saying ‘I WASNT BORN YESTERDAY.’
The potentially former couple took a big step in March as they met each other’s children, with Cher’s sons Chaz, 54, and Elijah, 46, both older than her boyfriend.
Meanwhile, AE shares three-year-old son Slash Electric with model ex-girlfriend Amber Rose- and had described Cher as an ‘amazing’ stepmother.
