Catch up on one of the best Love Islands ever – a recap of all the drama so far

Love Island is back and seemingly more explosive than ever before after a series of singles hit the Mallorcan villa with a bang.

A little over one week into the ITV 2 reality dating show, and fans are already dubbing the summer season’s cast the most dramatic yet after a collection of shocking moments made the show’s history books.

So far, there’s been five bombshell entries that have shaken up the house beyond audiences’ expectations.

Heads turning, texts blaring and sun belting down on the pool that never seems to be used, for the first time in a long time it’s truly gearing up to be a long, hot spicy summer of love.

Here are some of the most jaw-dropping antics from the villa since contestants began their search for their someone on June 5…

Are Jess Harding and Molly Marsh already feuding frenemies?

Things quickly heated up between two of the female islanders after heads were turned by more than one boy.

Jess confronted Molly about her treatment of her original partner Mitchel Taylor after the musical theatre performer had spent ample time getting to know bombshell Zachariah Noble.

Aesthetics practitioner Jess branded Molly an ‘actress’ and urged her to pick one boy and apologise to Mitch for her behaviour.

The pair repeatedly seem to be at loggerheads with plenty of under-the-breath comments from Jess in various scenes and no real communication between the two.

Molly, Mitch and Zach proved why three’s still a crowd

The series’ most talked-about triangle so far, these three raised tensions and caused a stir online after Molly and Zach began getting to know one another while the performer was still coupled up with the gas engineer.

Despite declaring his devotion to Molly, Mitch was left in the dirt after she decided she was open to getting to know the personal trainer.

Fans were fuming after Zach and Molly disappeared onto the balcony and shared a secret snog before the theatre star ran back downstairs and sought out Mitch.

Shocked at what they were watching, viewers slammed Molly for her gleeful re-telling of her smooch to her partner Mitch and virtually recoiled in shock after the islander asked her snubbed beau for a hug.

Tyrique Hyde and Ella Thomas came to fiery blows after minutes after new arrivals

A new bombshell rocked the boat for the 23-year-old Glaswegian model and Tyrique, 24, after he took a shine to Leah Taylor, 27, straight away.

The footballer caused Ella to break down in tears twice during one episode as he got cosy with the newbie and asked her to twirl and show off her outfit for him.

Heated words were exchanged and an argument ensued that exploded in the kitchen when Tyrique demanded to know why Ella was fumed after having watched his earlier display.

He ultimately declared his mind ‘wasn’t fully closed off’ which prompted more tears from Ella and a brewing hurricane in paradise.

A gasp-worthy re-coupling dictated by the bombshells

The most recent instalment of the dating show saw its biggest twist yet as a re-couple kicked off by a bombshell choice went sour.

Hearing the familiar text ping go off, this year’s batch made their way to the Mallorcan fire pit and awaited their fate as the tension built.

The virtual voice of god instructed the boys to take their picks however a twist sent jaws dropping as the new bombshells – Charlotte Sumner and Leah – chose first.

Getting straight to the point, Leah opted to share a bed with Tyrique prompting a dramatic gasp from the islanders and a look of horror from his former partner Ella who struggled to hold back tears at the revelation.

Next up, Charlotte wanted to get to know Zach and admitted she would be coupling up with him for the next round of love-searching in Spain.

Ahead of tonight’s episode, the islanders will have to choose who stays and who goes between Ella and Ruchee Gurung after Mitch decided to save his ex-Molly.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
