Cameron Diaz ‘accidentally hit Matthew Perry in face’ during secret date

Matthew Perry has reflected on being ‘accidentally hit in the face’ by Cameron Diaz during a second date.

The Friends actor has put pen to paper on his life story, in which he candidly detailed his addiction battles and the impact this had on those around him.

In Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, he also spoke of his love life, discussing his romance with Julia Roberts and crush on co-star Jennifer Aniston.

In one extract, he reportedly went into detail about being set up with Cameron at one point, following her split with Justin Timberlake, in 2007.

However, things didn’t go well between the pair as she ‘wasn’t interested’ in the Chandler Bing actor at all, he claimed via Page Six, and accidentally smacked him in the face at one point.

Not an ideal date…

Matthew alleged that the Something About Mary actress, 50, immediately got ‘stoned’ during a group dinner party, and ‘wasn’t interested in [him] at all’.

Things appeared to take a bizarre turn while they were playing a game of Pictionary, as he said ‘something witty’, to Cameron, who allegedly went to smack his shoulder but ended up ‘accidentally’ hitting him in the face instead.

According to the publication, he replied: ‘Are you f**king kidding me?’

In the pages of his book, Matthew also spoke of his short-term romance with Julia, and his decision to end their relationship.

The former couple dated for a few months at the end of 1995, and into the following year, during the filming of her guest appearance on Friends.

However, he decided to end things shortly after they started dating, admitting that dating the Ocean’s Eleven actress was ‘too much’ – as he constantly thought she would call things off first.

‘Why would she not? I was not enough; I could never be enough; I was broken, bent, unloveable,’ he wrote. ‘So instead of facing the inevitable agony of losing her, I broke up with the beautiful and brilliant Julia Roberts,’ he shared.

‘She might have considered herself slumming it with a TV guy, and TV guy was now breaking up with her. I can’t begin to describe the look of confusion on her face.’
