Parasite and Snowpiercer director Bong Joon-ho is working on a new movie and may be teaming up with Robert Pattinson for the project, The Hollywood Reporter wrote.
The Warner Bros. film is based on the upcoming novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton, which comes out on February 15. Billed as “The Martian meets Multiplicity,” the book follows an expendable clone named Mickey7 who is sent on an expedition to colonize the ice world Niflheim. Upon returning, he learns that he was presumed dead and has been replaced by a duplicate of himself called Mickey8.
Bong will both write and direct the film. He will also produce the project through his production company Offscreen alongside Dooho Choi for Kate Street Picture Company and Plan B.
Pattinson is in talks to star. Production would follow his highly-anticipated appearance in The Batman, which heads to theaters on March 22.
