Beyonce reads out sex of fan's baby in major gender reveal on stage

Gender reveals are known for often being extravagant, but Beyonce announcing a baby’s sex on stage at her sold-out tour might be the most iconic way possible.

Popping balloons, pinatas and coloured smoke are big business as parents try to announce their baby’s gender to friends and family in the most extravagant way, with the trend booming in the last few years.

Getting Beyonce to tell the world is probably one of the most dramatic gender reveals ever, as she balanced on scaffolding on top of a parked car on stage in Cologne, Germany.

The Formation singer was handed a tiny envelope, which she carefully opened, looking angelic under the stage lights with her shimmering outfit and chrome, sculpted breastplate.

Beyonce, 41, took a second to side-eye the parents with a little smile, before lifting the card up and declaring it was a girl.

The crowd erupted into cheers as the megastar congratulated the soon-to-be parents.

She said: ‘Congratulations! Congratulations, beautiful! God bless you!’

One of her backup dancers climbed onto the car on which Beyonce was precariously perched and handed her the note for the big reveal.

The reveal came about an hour into the two-hour Renaissance World Tour setlist as Beyonce said she had been noticing a sign asking her to do it all night.

‘I wanna do this right because since the beginning of the show, I’ve seen this sign that says “Do my gender reveal”,’ she said.

He popped the balloon and announced to the audience: ‘We’re having a girl Wembley! I’m very excited.’

Both tours have been wildly successful, selling out arenas across the world with Beyonce’s stop in Sweden said to have impacted inflation rates.

The Renaissance World Tour is concluding its European leg this month before heading to North America at the start of July.
