2022 has already proven to be a big year for Awesome Games Done Quick, which has now managed to raise a record-breaking amount for charity.
Taking place over the course of last week, the video game speedrunning stream managed to bring in $3,416,729 USD for the Prevent Cancer Foundation, setting a new high for money raised by the organization over the 12 years that it has been running. Viewers donated $25 USD on average with the highest single donation reaching a whopping $236,656 USD.
The week-long event itself provided plenty of content for gaming fans to watch as numerous speedrunners created new world records including for Webbed, Pumpkin Jack and Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Another highlight was Mitchriz’ speedrun of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, completing the game in just over two hours while being completely blindfolded the entire way.
Elsewhere in gaming, Activision has vowed to fix the current Call of Duty games.
