Some of Britain’s favourite faces turned up to party on the eve before the Baftas at the nominees bash last night.
The 76th British Academy Film and Television Awards will be held tonight at The Royal Festival Hall within London’s Southbank Centre, but there could be a few hangovers lurking in the star-studded audience as the nominees came out in full force at the get-together at the National Gallery.
Alongside Baftas host Alison Hammond, who in a hilarious video message has admitted to arising no later than 7am to prepare for this evening, Austin Butler, Colin Farrell, Vick Hope and Alex Scott were among the stars to grace the occasion with their presence.
The latter two were sure to turn many heads at the bash, as the presenter sported a fabulous pink two-piece dress, while the football pundit wowed in a draping gold number, which was an incredible combination of twists and gaps, making for a seriously edgy look.
Meanwhile, Elvis biopic star Austin and The Banshees of Inisherin lead Colin were joined by their fellow best actor nominee Paul Mescal, who looked as sultry as ever in a black suit – although he unfortunately had the good sense to leave his Normal People chain behind.
Other stand-out entrances included Showtrial’s Tracy Ifeachor, who absolutely stunned in a cream dress with a fabulous red feathered coat and some matching lipstick.
Both nominated for the rising star award, The Underground Railroad’s Sheila Atim glowed in an edgy high-necked silver-studded number, while Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody star Naomi Ackie looked the epitome of cool in a sparkling oversized chequerboard suit.
Black Panther: Wakanda forever’s Angela Bassett, who is on the best supporting actress shortlist, went for a bold suited look and boasted some enviable golden heart buttons (which we absolutely love).
Bubbly looked to be in full flow to mark the start of the Bafta festivities, which is the biggest night of the year for British film and TV.
The This Morning presenter will co-host tonight’s proceedings with Richard E Grant, the legendary actor best known for his brilliant depiction of a down-trodden actor in the cult classic Withnail & I.
Tonight’s Baftas will see the likes of Austin, Viola Davis, Cate Blanchett, Colin and Brendan Fraser compete for the best actor and actress accolades, while films such as Aftersun, The Banshees of Inisherin and Empire of Light are nominated for outstanding British film.
Watch the Baftas tonight on BBC One at 7pm.
